4 ways Advance in Academic Writing helps students write better academic texts

Academic reading texts that serve as writing models
Students are exposed to various elements of academic language and critical thinking to help them understand the language, structure and style required for academic essays. The texts serve as writing models and as springboards for vocabulary development, critical-thinking tasks and contextualized grammar instruction.

Themes, activities and tasks focused on STEM
Many topics addressed in Advance in Academic Writing are STEM-based to better prepare international students for their mainstream degree courses.

Specific guidance and scaffolding for completing writing assignments
An entire section of the book focuses on the most common assignments EAP students will be asked to write once they integrate into a regular degree program.

Steps of the writing process
Advance in Academic Writing is a two-level series that prepares students to meet the many challenges of academic writing in English. Advance takes students step by step through the writing processes they need for success in any field of study.
